The journey to a wholeness that seeks peace and freedom, is a journey not known to all.
Freedom from seeking to please everyone, freedom from feeling lost
A journey that passes some of us, as the most of us seek treasures of the earth.
The big houses, the flashy cars, the fast riches
The nightlife roaming, gambling and in and out of bars.
Some have achieved it all but live in misery with withering souls.
I used to say year come and go and nothing has changed
One day I realized a lot of things have changed.
I may still have the same address and no house or car to show
But I have grown, I realize I'm covering grounds.

I have accomplished patience, a virtue that was never mine
I have gained independence, a freedom of the mind.
I walk with integrity can you say the same?
Don't let people beat you down, press on unashamed.
I have shed some friends that were never really true
I feel my boat getting lighter, it's time for my breakthrough.

Be proud of your progress whatever it may be
Only you know where you've been and how much growth you've seen.
Now that you've accomplished what takes time to grow
You'll understand when worldly pleasures vanish away your virtues will still show.
Material things are only for a time but a molded character stands all test of time
Be proud of your progress no matter how small
A peaceful, joyful heart is not known to all.
